A small, but incredibly impactful, email addon

    Date: Jul 09 2024

Summary: This program is an effective tool for employees to use, especially if email is utilized a lot. I have grown in my own skills with cyber security and I can confidently say that I owe that growth to Hoxhunt. It doesn't take long to complete a simulation they send (usually every other week or so for my organization). Using this program has even lead to some laughs during staff meetings when coworkers share about some excitement they had from receiving an email, only to find out they were Hoxhunted. I highly recommend this program.

Positive: There are many things I love about Hoxhunt.

    1. It's very user friendly. In the beginning, I found the emails to be what I considered a little excessive. I didn't understand why I would be getting fake emails sent to me... Until I clicked one thinking it was legitimate. This program is all about raising awareness to phishing scams. I am so eager to write this review because I have noticed improvement in my own awareness and engagement when dealing with emails.

    2. It gamifies what most consider to be a not fun part of work. I work for a very large employer. I don't know everyone nor their roles. But after catching ("winning") a Hoxhunt email, you earn stars to go towards a better badge. Hoxhunt does a great job with only showing 6 users who have similar scores as you. You don't know who's doing way better or worse at reporting emails. On the occasions I see someone's name I do know, I have sent a screenshot to them so we can laugh about the friendly competition. It's a silly way to grow friendly engagement among coworkers in a very busy environment.

    3. It has made me feel more confident in my skills. I didn't buy into the process at first. Now I'm an advocate for Hoxhunt. Much of what I (we) do at my work is confidential and comes from many email address that are outside our organization. Hoxhunt helped me grow my awareness and skills with recognizing phishing attempts that I clearly didn't recognize at the early stages of use. Thanks Hoxhunt!

Negative: I don't have any complaints about Hoxhunt at this time. I have used this program for about 2 years now. At the early stages they had a few features I didn't like and had submitted feedback accordingly. The company has since adapted new approaches that has changed every aspect I wasn't a fan of. So at this moment, there isn't anything that I can really complain about.

Protect your company by playing a game

    Date: Jul 01 2024

Summary: Well balanced product making workers corporate live a bit harder, but it worth it! Playing the game really makes us stronger and ready for security calls of everyday life.

Positive: Perfect security awareness increasing and phishing mails generative solution. It can be integrated with company business processes, using different triggers while generating fake emails, so the topic will be precisely close to the current life or business situation of a user. After playing that game, you almost don't know anymore, what is true and thoroughly check any information.

Negative: Phishing emails generated by Hoxhunt can be even bewildering, action-provoking – it can be very difficult sometimes to carefully read it. Suddenly you are informed, that your corporate card has been used by someone else, your business trip is cancelled or your access will be revoked. Thus it's not that simple to keep your mind cold.

    My experience with hoxhunt

    Date: Jun 25 2024

Summary: Hoxhunt is a breath of fresh air in the world of security awareness training. It's engaging, informative, and most importantly, effective. The gamification aspect keeps things interesting, while the microlearning format ensures the information is easily digestible. While I would love a bit more customization and perhaps a tad more frequent simulations, overall, Hoxhunt has definitely made me more confident in my ability to identify and avoid phishing attempts. If you're looking for a way to boost your company's cybersecurity defenses and empower your employees, Hoxhunt is definitely worth checking out.

Positive: Having fallen victim to a phishing scam a while back, I was all too aware of the importance of cybersecurity awareness training. That's when my company introduced Hoxhunt, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. Here's a breakdown of my experience with this human risk management platform

Engaging Microlearning: Forget boring lectures! Hoxhunt breaks down security awareness into bite-sized, interactive modules. These microlearning experiences keep things fresh and hold your attention.
Phishing for Fun? Almost!: The simulated phishing emails are cleverly crafted. They test your instincts and keep you on your toes, all while reinforcing how to spot red flags in real emails. Plus, there's a gamification aspect that makes it surprisingly fun to identify and report these phoney emails.

Measurable Progress: I love seeing my progress visualized on the user-friendly dashboard. It's motivating to track my improvement in identifying phishing attempts and helps me stay accountable.

Real-World Relevance: Hoxhunt goes beyond theory. The training scenarios are based on real-world threats, making them relatable and truly valuable.

Negative: Can Be Occasional: The phishing simulations aren't super frequent. While this helps prevent them from becoming a nuisance, I do sometimes crave the challenge of a good phoney email!
Limited Customization (for Users): The training modules seem pre-set, so there's not much flexibility for individual users to tailor the experience to their specific needs.

Is Hoxhunt the Key to Spotting Email Scams? My Honest Review

    Date: Jun 24 2024

Summary: Hoxhunt's a pretty good way to learn about email scams and how to avoid them. It's easy to use, keeps things interesting, and helps identify people who might need some extra training. It's not perfect, but it's definitely a step up from boring old security lectures. If your company is looking for a way to make employees more cyber-savvy, Hoxhunt is worth checking out.

    Positive: Good Stuff:
Short & Sweet Lessons: No more snoozefests! Hoxhunt breaks down security stuff into quick, easy-to-understand chunks that fit your busy schedule.

Learning Through Play: Forget boring lectures. Hoxhunt makes learning fun with points and leaderboards, like a game! It keeps things interesting.

Practice Makes Perfect: Hoxhunt throws fake phishing emails your way, kind of like drills. You learn to spot the tricks scammers use so you don't get fooled in real life.

    Negative: Not-So-Good Stuff:
Fake Emails Can Be Silly: The practice emails can be a bit too lighthearted sometimes. They could be more realistic to really prepare us for the bad guys out there.

Limited Choices: There aren't tons of different practice emails to choose from. Ideally, you could pick ones that match the kinds of scams our company might face.

Keeping Up the Fun: The game aspect is cool at first, but it might get old after a while. They need to keep adding new stuff to keep things interesting.

    Hoxhunt: Sharpening Your Phishing Senses

    Date: Jun 22 2024

Summary: Despite a few minor drawbacks, Hoxhunt is a fantastic tool for improving your ability to identify phishing attempts. The engaging format keeps you on your guard, and the micro-learning approach makes it easy to integrate into your routine. If you're looking for a way to boost your cybersecurity awareness, Hoxhunt is definitely worth checking out.

Positive: Hoxhunt has been my go-to training tool for a while now, and I wanted to share my experience with anyone looking to boost their cybersecurity awareness.
Here's a breakdown of the good, the not-so-good, and the overall impact.

    Pros:

Keeps you on your toes: Hoxhunt throws realistic phishing simulations your way, so you're constantly rethinking suspicious emails. It definitely helps you stay vigilant, which is key in today's threat landscape.

Learning through micro-training: The emails are short and sweet, making it easy to fit the training into your workday. Plus, after you report a phish, you get a quick explanation of what red flags to look for in the future.

Easy integration: The reporting button seamlessly integrates with my email client, making it effortless to flag suspicious emails.

It's useful and actually quite fun

    Date: Jun 19 2024

Summary: Honestly I really liked it! Something new across the boring work inbox. Starting from the "usual" training phishing and scam emails - you can report them via Hoxhunt and also get a micro (but useful) explanation about what have you just reported. Later - "spicy mode" - sometimes really believable and hard to detect. Also the gamification aspect is surprisingly fun. By reporting and completing micro trainings you unlock achievements and upgrade your "shield". It's a first time I saw such mandatory thing be quite enjoyable. Nice! :)

Positive: Explanation of security and phishing.
    Training spotting phishing and scam.
    Fun.
Now I'm paranoid of every unusual email I receive.

Negative: Dashboard takes time to find, I always forget where it is.
Vacation mode still sends you emails sometimes.

    Date: May 29 2024

Summary: It is such a fun way of learning without having to read lots of pages of material - the feedback after reporting the Hoxhunt email is the best feature in my opinion.

Hoxhunt is an excellent tool to improve your awareness of malicious actors

    Date: May 03 2024

Summary: My overall experience with Hoxhunt is very good, I feel like I learn more about how to keep my personal information safe and how to identify malicious actions. I feel safe when using Hoxhunt, knowing that I can learn how to protect myself, my company and others!

Positive: It is very easy to use, you can integrate into the system of Hoxhunt as a user fast and comfortably. You will get occasional random mails and your job is to identify if these mails seem strange or seem malicious enough, if you think they do then you are supposed to report the mails to Hoxhunt! I like that you get tips either if you identify a Hoxhunt mail or not, also you get more unrelated tips afterwards, for example I got some step-by-step guide on how to migrate my mobile phone information to a new one, during a transfer to a new phone, in a secure way, which I find neat! You are always supposed to report any non-Hoxhunt mails also, so that they are properly catalogued and analyzed to improve Hoxhunt even more!

Negative: I have so far found nothing bad about Hoxhunt beside of one thing; It can be hard to find the Hoxhunt-button when I am to report a mail, it is located inside two menus in my Microsoft Outlook window, which can be annoying. This problem is only visible in Microsoft Outlook desktop, in my mobile phone I can easily find the Hoxhunt-button to report any malicious mails!
