You're right. But considering global trade and public perception, having a "weaker" currency nowadays directly means more expensive stuff.

I live in a country with a heavily devalued currency and while a good part of national industries greatly benefited of it by expanding its exports (which leads to a positive trade balance for the country), it isn't well seen by the majority of the population that end up having much less access to several products.

Also, the most benefitted industries are the primary ones (commodities), which have a lower demand for technology and less aggregated value. Industries that need to import machines, supplies and services get depressed and outdated by increasing, almost prohibitive costs.

Just to add some insight:

Trump, in a Truth Social post, said: “We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy.”

I would answer that no, that's not what ChatGPT does.

I guess it's like comparing a person in the coast, with a fish rod, fishing for dinner versus a huge company throwing immense nets in the sea and catching tons and tons of fish for profit. They aren't - and shouldn't be treated the same.

Just as an anecdote, I've recently been in Portugal and Spain for a month and I was astonished at how shitty weather forecast is for the general public. Not a single day the predictions were right, not only the day before but even in the same day, just a couple of hours ahead.

Even in my "shithole country" forecasts are usually very precise and I can, for example, confidently say that in my town next Saturday around 10AM, weather will be cloudy, 17C.

In spite of Suleyman's exaggeration, this is actually a good use case of "AI" exactly because it's not about intelligence.

Diagnostics are a very algorithmic activity and requires the memory of an immeasurable repertoire of medical literature. Doctors could make use of this tool to quickly narrow and accelerate it, saving precious time and resources for patients.

Submission + - Honda dips its toes in cargo delivery micromobility (techcrunch.com)

SouthSeb writes: Increasingly busy city centers and traffic/pollution restrictions make cargo deliver more difficult each day. This, in turn, creates an opportunity for companies to invest and create micromobility solutions.

Honda will start to build a new electric quad-cycle, the Fastport eQuad, in its Ohio plant, in order to try and grab a share of this crescent market. The eQuad will come with a swappable battery and software aimed at helping drivers with their routes.

Here's a quick story for you:

In Brazil, ex-president Bolsonaro - a notorious Trump's ass kisser - is about to be tried and possibly convicted for planning and attempting a coup that was very similar to January 8th. It was discovered that the ill-fated plan included ASSASSINATION of the president-elect and the head of the Supreme Court.

However, he is still very strong politically among the far right.

So one of his sons - who is currently a senator - gave an interview this week, clearly drawing inspiration from the American experience, stating that the candidate his father supports for the next presidential elections should commit to pardoning him - and here's the important part - EVEN IF IT HAS TO BE BY FORCE against the Supreme Court!

Trump is actually setting the bar and the modus operandi for the whole far right around the world.

The promotions will appear only in an area of the app called Updates, which is used by around 1.5 billion people a day. WhatsApp will collect some data on users to target the ads, such as location and the device's default language, but it will not touch the contents of messages or whom users speak with.

One has to be very naive to trust this won't happen soon.

I don't use Twitter much. But one of these days I accessed it and was impacted by a tweet urging "white christian people to rise up in arms and make America white again." I reported it, only to receive a response the next day stating they haven't found anything wrong with the post.

So, that's the state of things and what we may expect with other social media now.

Of course, some will say I can simply not use social media if that kind of speech bothers me. But let's be honest: simply pretending you don't see it really doesn't solve the issue, does it?
