I drove for Lyft and compiled 5k trips. When I got a huge repair bill for my transmission (VW's in warranty such scumbags are VW and their dealers / servicers), Lyft came back to me and in no uncertain terms, said, "NO". If they wont help with repairs that are directly wear related, fuck them. I did some number crunching and and does seem that using an electric car for driving would be far more profitable and have way less repairs.
